About the Chapter
Sugarcreek Valley is a chapter of the Archaeological Society of Ohio (external link).
The chapter was organized in the late 1950s for the purpose of discovering and preserving Indian artifacts found in the Tuscarawas County area of Ohio, and preserving information about those Indians. The chapter became a member of the ASO in 1960.
The current officers of the chapter are:
- President: Steve Slatzer
- Vice President/Secretary: Lila Slatzer
- Treasurer: Paul Wischt
- Trustees: Mike Dull, Andy Fussell, Dave Schwark, Dawain Heestand
Meetings are held once a month (except January and February, due to weather), generally on the third Monday of the month, but check our newsletter for changes. Meetings are usually held at the Schoolhouse building in Historic Zoar Village (upper right corner of map). They usually include free cookies or other snacks.
Newsletters are issued monthly (except December).

Annual membership dues are $10 (individual) or $12 (family).
